EXCITING NEWS!!!
We are excited to welcome Dave Trout from UTR Media to our Walking Stick Retreat Community! Dave Trout (bio below) will be joining us for the retreat where he will be interacting and contributing in many different ways. Just a few examples include, but are not limited to a movie on Thursday night for those coming in early, games Friday night and many other opportunities to interact during the retreat. We have a limited number of rooms that are still available, if you haven't already, register today! Registration will close when the rooms are filled or on March 30th, whichever comes first.
Dave Trout is the founder of UTR Media, a non-profit organization that curates well-crafted, faith-inspired music… which has always included the songs of Rich Mullins. He’s been working in the broadcasting field for over 28 years. His first job was at WETN-FM radio on the campus of Wheaton College. This is where Dave was in September 1997 when he found out that Rich had died in that fateful auto accident.
Dave has launched 5 podcasts (and hosted 4 of them). Plus he is the founder of the White Owl Music Festival and the indie music retreat called Escape To The Lake. In the last 15 years, he has organized over 220 concerts, and as a music fan has attended over 1,000 concerts.
Besides being a cultivator of “gourmet music,” Dave is a self-proclaimed pizza connoisseur. Having lived over four decades in Chicago, some might wonder if Dave is a pizza snob. His response: “No way. I like pizza in all varieties. But hands down Chicago has the best pizza in the USA. Even their thin crust is the best!”
Dave, his wife Laura, and their five children relocated to Murfreesboro, TN in 2019, and have been enjoying this new chapter of life. Dave also loves fishing in Canada, NBA games, chips-n-queso, streaming TV, the Narnia series, warm cookie sundaes, 80s-90s pro wrestling, Chicago Bears, Settlers of Catan, RaceTrak gas, and claw games.
